1. About

Closet & Botts is a partnership between two old school friends, Chloe Shearing and Harriet Maxwell. Chloe originally worked in a French patisserie in Brighton, whilst Harriet was a display artist for Anthropologie in London. They share an eye for well-made, beautiful objects, and over the years have spent many a cold morning hunting around markets and car boot sales, dreaming of opening their own shop. After a particularly inspiring trip to Paris, they decided to take the plunge. They left their jobs on the same day, bought a van (The Pearly Queen), and spent the next eighteen months learning their trade, scouring the flea markets of Europe, bringing home overlooked treasures to sell in pop-up shops and vintage fairs.

In February of this year they opened the doors to their very own shop in the antique hub of the South, Lewes. Closet & Botts brings together an eclectic mix of vintage, new and handmade homeware, furniture and clothes. Originally a pharmacy, 196 High Street, with its stained glass windows and tiny, beautiful walled garden, is the perfect home for their collection.
With a new website and online shop to come very soon, you won’t have to be local to Lewes to enjoy their wares.
